For #LGBThistorymonth I will be posting an #lgbtq #womaninhistory every day. Today is Rosanna Flamer-Caldera, a Sri Lankan LGBT rights activist and founder of Equal Ground, the only mixed organization advocating for LGBTI rights in Sri Lanka.
Flamer-Caldera is a co-founder of the Sri Lankan LBT organization, Women’s Support Group, which was established in 1999 to provide support for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women. She was the first female representative from Asia to be in the executive member list of the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) and served as co-secretary general until 2008. In addition she contributes as an NGO Advisor for the Hirschfeld Eddy Foundation and the Global Fund for Women.
